In Oregon, the sun has been out so much more than is typical for spring, leaving me desperate for one thing.

You know what it is? Birkenstock sandals. Because I live in Oregon and I’m a walking cliche.

You know what also looks real ugly right now after being covered up and ignored the past six months? My feet.

Maybe this is too much to share.

This simple foot soak is also great for sore feet. Not only does the warm water help everything feel better, but also, Epsom salts contain magnesium and can help soothe sore muscles including achy feet.

In a bowl, add Epsom salts and baking soda.

Sprinkle in dried herbs and flowers. I like lavender, rose, and chamomile. They are easy to find and all are very calming and good for the skin.

Mix together and store until ready to use.

How To Use A DIY Foot Bath:

Add warm water to a bath or foot tub.

Pour a few spoonfuls of the herbal foot soak into the warm water and allow to dissolve.

To help remove dead skin, you can also add a couple of tablespoons of apple cider vinegar to the water soak mixture.

Place feet into the warm water and soak feet. Allow the salts and herbs to work for 20-30 minutes.

After soaking, it’s a great time to use a pumice stone and aDIY foot scrub(orbrown sugar scrub) to make your feet incredibly soft.

Dry feet and apply your favorite moisturizer.

  • 1/4 cup Epsom salts
  • 1/4 cup baking soda
  • 2 tbs dried flowers or herbs optional
  • 10 drops essential oils I like to add eucalyptus and lavender

  • In a bowl, add Epsom salts and baking soda.Sprinkle in dried herbs and flowers.
